Book 28 - The Bad Beginning

My twenty eighth book was The Bad Beginning, by Lemony Snicket, the first book in A Series of Unfortunate Events. I have read the entire series, several times, but I decided to read this one again. I loved it just as much the second time as all of the others. The Baudelaire's (aka Violet, Klaus, and Sunny) mansion is destroyed and their parents killed in a fire. They are put in the care of the evil Count Olaf by the not-very-bright banker, Mr. Poe. Count Olaf wants their fortune so bad that he does very despicable things (like trying to force Violet to marry him by holding her baby sister, Sunny, hostage) before disappearing. This oversight by Mr. Poe leads the poor orphans in the "series of unfortunate events" the series is named after, with Count Olaf chasing them wherever they go. If only Mr. Poe had known...

Book 2 - I Am Number Four

My second book is I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. This is an amazing science fiction book by an author who is fictional and fits into the story, kind of like Lemony Snicket in A Series of Unfortunate Events. This book is about a boy who is a refugee from an alien planet. There are nine aliens, along with their guardians, on Earth. They can only be killed in order. John and his guardian Henri have to move from place to place in order not to be found. But John has trouble leaving his new town because he has a new friend and a girlfriend. But when the Mogadorians find him, he has to fight to protect everything that he didn't want to leave. Plus, this is being made into to a movie, starring Alex Pettyfer, the adorable Timothy Olyphant, and the awesome Dianna Agron, from Glee. The book was perfect so, as long as they don't change too much, the movie hopefully will be, too.
